Group training: 10-mile walk on April 2nd.

Come train with us.

If you’re planning on walking The Commute with us on June 4th, now is the time to be training. Why not meet some other walkers while you’re at it?

Join us April 2nd for our first group training walk of the season. It’s a South Bay stroll from San Jose to Campbell and back through some neighborhoods and along the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

The plan:

Starting at Circle of Palms Plaza in downtown San Jose, we’ll walk south through Willow Glen and to The Pruneyard Shopping Center where we’ll eat lunch. After the lunch break we’ll walk up the Los Gatos Creek Trail back to the starting point at Circle of Palms. Budget about four hours for the round-trip.

How to prepare:

The extended forecast looks good for that day: warm, but not too warm. That said, here’s what we recommend:

  • Dress in light layers—shorts or lightweight pants, t-shirt or lightweight long-sleeved shirt, and possibly a very lightweight jacket.
  • Bring a full water bottle—about a quart will probably work. We’ll refill at lunch (Togo’s).
  • Bring money for lunch. About $15 will probably work.
  • Have a plan in place in case you need to leave early. If you develop a bad blister, twist your ankle, or just decide you’d rather be someplace else have a plan in place. It could be by bus, Uber, or by calling someone to come get you.
